One of the powerful tools or better still one of the great tactics Satan who was origially Lucifer, employs is DECEPTION. God has given us Heaven freely by given His only begotten son to shed His blood in ransome of our sins. Howver, some of us may not acquire such inheritance as a result of Deception. Now lets look at the stories of the following Bible Characters:
Sampson's birth was foretold with a llifestyle he should lead because he was a promising child who was to defend the people of God from their enemies. The Bible recalls in Judges 13:3-6 that "The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said "you are sterile and childless, but you are going to conceive and have a son. Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head, because the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin thedeliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines." When Sampson reached his adulthood, it was necessary for him to marry.
Notwithsatanding what God has already commanded his parents (Manoah from the clan of the Danites and his wife) to do, the directives they were to go by in Sampson's upbringing. I believe, one of which was not to marry outside the territory of Israel. Why? When we read judges 14:1-2, the word of the Lord says, Sampson went down to Timnah and saw there a young Philistine woman. When he returned, he said to his father and mother, "I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah; now get her for me as my wife." They asked him if there was no acceptable woman among the Israelites? Verse 3 says "His father and and mother replied, "Isn't there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people? Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?" He neglected the counsel of them and went ahead to marry the Philistine. Sampson's first wife and family were killed because of inter marriage by the Philistines. Eventually, he fell in love again and this time with Delila, Judges 16:4-21 recalls that, and the consequence was to his disadvantage. You see how Delilah led Sampson into the enemy through deception? It was the Grace of God which saved Sampson amidst troubles. Sampson's eyes were gouged out, he was bound with shackles of silver and imprisoned. He was even used as a medium of entertainment, They ridiculed him, maltreated him because they saw him as an enemy. (verse 21, 28)
What about Adam and Eve? God commanded them to eat every fruit in the Garden except one fruit- the fruit of life. Satan orchestrated and masquaraded in a form of snake and informed the woman she will not die for God knows that her eyes will be opened and she will surely be like God, knowing good from evil.
Now Genesis 3:1-11 says:"Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' " The woman quoted what God informed them exactly but lets look at the next line of deception.
Satan uses deception to oppose God and leads God's children astray. Genesis 3: 4 & 5 says "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." God descended to visit the man and asked where he was. His reply was "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid"
Verse 13 says "Then the Lord God said to the woman, "what is this you have done?" " The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
When we contine the readings, it gives accounts of the various curses that follow. Because we yielded to the deception of Satan, the consequences were incalculable.
The lessons to draw from this message
1. Did they die at that instance certainly? Big No.
2. Were their eyes opened or not? Their eyes indeed opened.
Satan polishes False to look like Right or Truth exactly. Folks we need to open our eyes in these last days. We witness signs, miracles and wonders everyday. The question is: are they really from God or it is Satan who is masquarading like good angels and solving our problems? A word to a wise is enough. God has given us all clues and everything neccessary for our salvation. "If you don't go to Heaven, dont blame Jesus.
When God visits you now and ask "where are you? Will you be afraid and be hiding?
3. God can forgive us but we must face the aftereffect of our sins. God forgave Sampson but he bore the outcome of his actions. Judges 16: 28-31
4. When we yield to sin and aftermath we bear the effect but do not ask for forgiveness throgh true but not conterfeit repentance. We will lose salvation.
5. When God commands you, you just obey His word. But are we obeying God's commandment? Hmmm!
If it is your wish to pray for true repentance and shield yourself from deception of Satan and counterfeit revival, then Be sober in the Lord God, spend more time studying His word and walk how He has TAUGHT you. Amen! Amen!!
